Al-Qadr — Surah 97

اِنَّاۤ اَنۡزَلۡنٰہُ فِیۡ لَیۡلَۃِ الۡقَدۡرِ ۚ﴿ۖ۱﴾
1
TRULY WE REVEALED it on the Night of Determination.
— Ahmedali
We have indeed sent down the Qur’an in the Night of Destiny.
— Ahmedraza
Verily We! We have sent it down on the night of Power.
— Daryabadi
Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)
— Hilali
We sent it down on the Night of Decree.
— Itani
Behold, We revealed this (Qur'an) on the Night of Power.
— Maududi
Verily, We have sent it down in the Night of Al-Qadr.
— Mubarakpuri
Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination.
— Pickthall
We sent this (the Holy Koran) down on the Night of Honor.
— Qaribullah
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
— Sahih
Surely We revealed it on the grand night.
— Shakir
We sent it [Quran] down on the Night of Destiny.
— Wahiduddin
We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:
— Yusufali
بیشک ہم نے اسے (قرآن کو) شب قدر میں اتارا ہے۔
— عبدالماجد دریابادی
ہم نے اس (قرآن) کو شب قدر میں نازل کیا
— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی
بلاشبہ ہم نے اسے قدر کی رات میں اتارا۔
— عبدالسلام بھٹوی
بیشک ہم نے اسے شبِ قدر میں اتارا

ہم نے اسے شب قدر میں نازل کیا

یقینا ہم نے اتارا ہے اس (قرآن) کو لیلۃ القدر میں۔

وَ مَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮکَ مَا لَیۡلَۃُ الۡقَدۡرِ ؕ﴿۲﴾

How will you know what the Night of Determination is?
— Ahmedali
And what have you understood, what the Night of Destiny is!
— Ahmedraza
And what shall make thee know that which the night of Power is?
— Daryabadi
And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is?
— Hilali
But what will convey to you what the Night of Decree is?
— Itani
And what do you know what the Night of Power is?
— Maududi
And what will make you know what the Night of Al-Qadr is
— Mubarakpuri
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is!
— Pickthall
What could let you know what the Night of Honor is!
— Qaribullah
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
— Sahih
And what will make you comprehend what the grand night
— Shakir
And what will make you comprehend what the Night of Destiny is?
— Wahiduddin
And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?

اور آپ کو خبر ہے کہ شب قدر ہے کہا ؟۔

اور آپ کو کیا معلوم کہ شب قدر کیا ہے ؟

اور تجھے کس چیز نے معلوم کروایا کہ قدر کی رات کیا ہے ؟

اور تم نے کیا جانا کیا شبِ قدر،

اور تم کیا جانو کہ شب قدر کیا ہے !

اور تم کیا جانتے ہو کہ لیلۃ القدر کیا ہے !

اور آپ کیا سمجھے ہیں (کہ) شبِ قدر کیا ہے،

And what shall teach thee what is the Night of Power?

And what will show you what is the Night of Ordainment?

Would that you knew what the Night of Destiny is!

لَیۡلَۃُ الۡقَدۡرِ ۬ۙ خَیۡرٌ مِّنۡ اَلۡفِ شَہۡرٍ ؕ﴿ؔ۳﴾

Better is the Night of Determination than a thousand months.
— Ahmedali
The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.
— Ahmedraza
The night of Power is better than a thousand months.
— Daryabadi
The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, (i.e. 83 years and 4 months).

The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
— Itani
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
— Maududi
The Night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months.
— Mubarakpuri
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.

The Night of Honor is better than a thousand months,
— Qaribullah
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

The grand night is better than a thousand months.

The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months;

شب قدر ہزار مہینوں سے بڑھ کر ہے۔

The Night of Power is better than a thousand months;

The Night of Ordainment is better than a thousand months.

(Worship) on the Night of Destiny is better than (worship) for a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃُ وَ الرُّوۡحُ فِیۡہَا بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّہِمۡ ۚ مِنۡ کُلِّ اَمۡرٍ ۙ﴿ۛ۴﴾

On (this night) the angels and grace descend by the dispensation of their Lord, for settling all affairs.

In it descend the angels and Jibreel, by the command of their Lord – for all works.
— Ahmedraza
The angels and the spirit descend therein by the command of their Lord with His decrees for every affair.
— Daryabadi
Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees,
— Hilali
In it descend the angels and the Spirit, by the leave of their Lord, with every command.
— Itani
The angels along with the Spirit descend in it by the permission of their Lord with all kinds of decrees.
— Maududi
Therein descend the angels and the Ruh by their Lord's permission with every matter.
— Mubarakpuri
The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.
— Pickthall
in it the angels and the Spirit (Gabriel) descend by the permission of their Lord upon every command.
— Qaribullah
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
— Sahih
The angels and Jibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair,
— Shakir
on that night, the angels and the Spirit come down by the permission of their Lord with His decrees for all matters;
— Wahiduddin
Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand:

اس رات فرشتے اور روح القدس اترتے ہیں اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے ہر امر خیر کے لئے۔

روح اور فرشتے اس رات اپنے پروردگار کے اذن سے ہر حکم لے کر نازل ہوتے ہیں

اس میں فرشتے اور روح اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر امر کے متعلق اترتے ہیں۔

اس میں فرشتے اور جبریل اترتے ہیں اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر کام کے لیے

اس میں فرشتے اور روح اترتے ہیں، ہر امر میں، اپنے رب کی اجازت کے ساتھ

(اس رات میں) اُترتے ہیں فرشتے اور روح اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر کام کے لیے۔

اس میں روح (الامین) اور فرشتے ہر کام کے (انتظام کے) لیے اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے اترتے ہیں

اس (میں ہر کام) کے سر انجام دینے کو اپنے رب کے حکم سے فرشتے اور روح (جبرائیل) اترتے ہیں

اس میں فرشتے اور روح اپنے پروردگار کی اجازت سے ہر کام کے لیے اترتے ہیں۔

فرشتے اور روح اُس میں اپنے رب کے اذن سے ہر حکم لے کر اترتے ہیں

اس (رات) میں فرشتے اور روح الامین (جبرائیل) اپنے رب کے حکم سے (خیر و برکت کے) ہر امر کے ساتھ اترتے ہیں،

سَلٰمٌ ۟ۛ ہِیَ حَتّٰی مَطۡلَعِ الۡفَجۡرِ ٪﴿۵﴾

It is peace till the dawning of the day.
— Ahmedali
It is peace until the rising of dawn.
— Ahmedraza
It is all peace, until the rising of the dawn.
— Daryabadi
Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.
— Hilali
Peace it is; until the rise of dawn.
— Itani
All peace is that night until the rise of dawn.
— Maududi
There is peace until the appearance of dawn.
— Mubarakpuri
(The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn.
— Pickthall
Peace it is, till the break of dawn.
— Qaribullah
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
— Sahih
Peace! it is till the break of the morning.
— Shakir
it is all peace till the break of dawn.

Peace!... This until the rise of morn!

سلامتی (ہی سلامتی) ہے وہ رہتی ہے طلوع فجر تک۔

(وہ رات) سراسر سلامتی ہے طلوع فجر تک۔

وہ رات فجر طلوع ہونے تک سراسر سلامتی ہے۔

وہ سلامتی ہے، صبح چمکتے تک

وہ یکسر امان ہے ! یہ صبح کے نمودار ہونے تک ہے

سراسر سلامتی ہے۔ یہ (رات) رہتی ہے طلوع فجر تک۔

یہ (رات) طلوع صبح تک (امان اور) سلامتی ہے
