وَ الَّیۡلِ اِذَا یَغۡشٰی ۙ﴿۱﴾

1

I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over,

— Ahmedali

By oath of the night when it covers

— Ahmedraza

By the night when it envelopeth,

— Daryabadi

By the night as it envelops;

— Hilali

By the night as it covers.

— Itani

By the night when it enshrouds,

— Maududi

By the night as it envelops.

— Mubarakpuri

By the night enshrouding

— Pickthall

By the night, when it envelops,

— Qaribullah

By the night when it covers

— Sahih

I swear by the night when it draws a veil,

— Shakir

By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness,

— Wahiduddin

By the Night as it conceals (the light);

قسم ہے رات کی جب وہ ڈھانپ لے

And Him who created the male and female,

— Ahmedali

And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female.

By Him Who hath created the male and the female,

— Daryabadi

And by Him Who created male and female;

— Hilali

And He who created the male and the female.

— Itani

and by Him Who created the male and the female:

— Maududi

By Him Who created male and female.

— Mubarakpuri

And Him Who hath created male and female,

And by Who created the male and female,

— Qaribullah

And [by] He who created the male and female,

— Sahih

And the creating of the male and the female,

— Shakir

and by the creation of the male and the female.

By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;-

— Yusufali

اور اس کی جس نے نر اور مادہ کو پیدا کیا۔

اور اس ذات کی جس نے نر اور مادہ پیدا کیے

and That which created the male and the female,

and by that (Power) which created the male and female,

اِنَّ سَعۡیَکُمۡ لَشَتّٰی ؕ﴿۴﴾

4

That your endeavour is for different ends.

— Ahmedali

Indeed your efforts differ.

— Ahmedraza

Verily your endeavour is diverse.

— Daryabadi

Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes);

— Hilali

Your endeavors are indeed diverse.

— Itani

surely your strivings are divergent.

— Maududi

Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse.

— Mubarakpuri

Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends).

— Pickthall

your striving is indeed to different ends!

— Qaribullah

Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

— Sahih

Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends).

— Shakir

O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends!

— Wahiduddin

Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse.

— Yusufali

کہ بیشک تمہاری کوششیں مختلف ہیں۔

کہ تمہاری کوشش یقینا مختلف قسم کی ہے

بیشک تمہاری کوشش یقینا مختلف ہے۔

فَاَمَّا مَنۡ اَعۡطٰی وَ اتَّقٰی ۙ﴿۵﴾

5

Yet he who gives to others and has fear,

— Ahmedali

So for one who gave and practised piety

— Ahmedraza

Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him.

— Daryabadi

As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him,

— Hilali

As for him who gives and is righteous.

— Itani

As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him),

— Maududi

As for him who gives and has Taqwa,

— Mubarakpuri

As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah)

— Pickthall

For him that gives and fears (Allah)

— Qaribullah

As for he who gives and fears Allah

— Sahih

Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil),

— Shakir

As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God],

— Wahiduddin

So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah),

— Yusufali

سو جس نے دیا اور (اللہ سے) ڈرا

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

پھر جس نے (اللہ کی راہ میں) مال دیا اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کی

پس لیکن وہ جس نے دیا اور (نافرمانی سے) بچا۔

تو وہ جس نے دیا اور پرہیزگاری کی

سو جس نے انفاق کیا اور پرہیز گاری اختیار کی

تو جس نے عطا کیا اور تقویٰ اختیار کیا۔

As for him who gives and is godfearing

As for him who gives and is Godwary

We shall facilitate the path to bliss

— Sarwar

وَ صَدَّقَ بِالۡحُسۡنٰی ۙ﴿۶﴾

6

And affirms goodness,

— Ahmedali

And believed the best matter to be true

— Ahmedraza

And testifieth to the Good,

— Daryabadi

And believes in Al-Husna.

— Hilali

And confirms goodness.

— Itani

and affirmed the Truth of goodness:

— Maududi

And believes in Al-Husna.

— Mubarakpuri

And believeth in goodness;

— Pickthall

and believes in the finest,

— Qaribullah

And believes in the best [reward],

— Sahih

And accepts the best,

— Shakir

and believes in the truth of what is right,

— Wahiduddin

And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,-

— Yusufali

اور اچھی بات کو سچا سمجھا

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

اور بھلی باتوں کی تصدیق کی

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

اور اس نے سب سے اچھی بات کو سچ مانا۔

— عبدالسلام بھٹوی

اور سب سے اچھی کو سچ مانا

اور اچھے انجام کو سچ مانا

اور اس نے تصدیق کی اچھی بات کی۔

اور نیک بات کو سچ جانا

اور نیک بات کی تصدیق کرتا رہے گا

اور سب سے اچھی بات کو دل سے مانا۔

اور اس نے (اِنفاق و تقوٰی کے ذریعے) اچھائی (یعنی دینِ حق اور آخرت) کی تصدیق کی،

and confirms the reward most fair,

and confirms the best promise,

for those who spend for the cause of God,

— Sarwar

فَسَنُیَسِّرُہٗ لِلۡیُسۡرٰی ؕ﴿۷﴾

7

We shall ease the way of fortune for him.

— Ahmedali

So We will very soon provide him ease.

— Ahmedraza

Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease.

— Daryabadi

We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness).

— Hilali

We will ease his way towards ease.

— Itani

We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss.

— Maududi

We will make smooth for him the path of ease.

— Mubarakpuri

Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease.

— Pickthall

We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing;

— Qaribullah

We will ease him toward ease.

— Sahih

We will facilitate for him the easy end.

— Shakir

We will pave his way to ease.

— Wahiduddin

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss.

سو ہم اس کے لئے راحت کی چیز آسان کردیں گے۔

تو ہم اسے آسان راہ پر چلنے کی سہولت دیں گے

تو یقینا ہم اسے آسان راستے کے لیے سہولت دیں گے۔

تو بہت جلد ہم اسے آسانی مہیا کردیں گے

اس کو تو ہم اہل بنائیں گے راحت کی منزل کا

observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God.

وَ اَمَّا مَنۡۢ بَخِلَ وَ اسۡتَغۡنٰی ۙ﴿۸﴾

8

But he who does not give and is unconcerned,

— Ahmedali

And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree,

— Ahmedraza

And as for him who stinteth and is heedless,

— Daryabadi

But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient.

— Hilali

But as for him who is stingy and complacent.

— Itani

As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah),

— Maududi

But he who is greedy and thinks himself self-sufficient,

— Mubarakpuri

But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent,

— Pickthall

but for him that is a miser, and sufficed,

— Qaribullah

But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

— Sahih

And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah),

— Shakir

But as for one who is miserly and unheeding,

— Wahiduddin

But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient,

— Yusufali

اور جس نے بخل کیا اور بےپروائی برتی

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

اور جس نے بخل کیا اور بےپروا بنا رہا

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

اور لیکن وہ جس نے بخل کیا اور بےپروا ہوا۔

اور وہ جس نے بخل کیا اور بے پرواہ بنا

اور جس نے بخالت کی اور بےپروا ہوا

اور جس نے بخل کیا اور بےپروائی اختیار کی۔

لیکن جس نے بخیلی کی اور بے پرواہی برتی

رہا وہ شخص جس نے بخل سے کام لیا، اور (اللہ سے) بےنیازی اختیار کی۔

اور جس نے بخل کیا اور (اپنے خدا سے) بے نیازی برتی

اور جس نے بخل کیا اور (راہِ حق میں مال خرچ کرنے سے) بے پروا رہا،

But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient,

But as for him, who is stingy and self-complacent,

But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth,

— Sarwar

وَ کَذَّبَ بِالۡحُسۡنٰی ۙ﴿۹﴾

9

And rejects goodness,

— Ahmedali

And denied the best matter,

— Ahmedraza

And who belieth the Good,

— Daryabadi

And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote);

— Hilali

And denies goodness.

— Itani

and denied the Truth of goodness:

— Maududi

And denies Al-Husna.

— Mubarakpuri

And disbelieveth in goodness;

— Pickthall

and he belied the finest

— Qaribullah

And denies the best [reward],

— Sahih

And rejects the best,

— Shakir

and rejects what is right,

— Wahiduddin

And gives the lie to the best,-

— Yusufali

اور اچھی بات کو جھٹلایا

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

اور بھلائی کو جھٹلایا

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

اور اس نے سب سے اچھی بات کو جھٹلا دیا۔

اور سب سے اچھی کو جھٹلایا

اور اچھے انجام کو جھٹلایا

اور جھٹلا دیا اچھی بات کو۔

اور اس نے (یوں) اچھائی (یعنی دینِ حق اور آخرت) کو جھٹلایا،

and cries lies to the reward most fair,

and denies the best promise,

and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God).

فَسَنُیَسِّرُہٗ لِلۡعُسۡرٰی ﴿ؕ۱۰﴾

10

For him We shall ease the way of adversity,

— Ahmedali

So We will very soon provide him hardship.

— Ahmedraza

Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship.

— Daryabadi

We will make smooth for him the path for evil;

— Hilali

We will ease his way towards difficulty.

— Itani

We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship,

— Maududi

We will make smooth for him the path to evil.

— Mubarakpuri

Surely We will ease his way unto adversity.

— Pickthall

We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire).

— Qaribullah

We will ease him toward difficulty.

— Sahih

We will facilitate for him the difficult end.

— Shakir

We shall pave his way to hardship,

— Wahiduddin

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery;

— Yusufali

سو ہم اس کے لئے مصیبت کی چیز آسان کردیں گے۔

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

تو ہم اسے تنگی کی راہ پر چلنے کی سہولت دیں گے

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

تو یقینا ہم اسے مشکل راستے کے لیے سہولت دیں گے۔

تو بہت جلد ہم اسے دشواری مہیا کردیں گے

اس کو ہم ڈھیل دیں گے کٹھن منزل کے لیے

تو اس کو ہم رفتہ رفتہ مشکل منزل (جہنم) تک پہنچا دیں گے۔

اسے سختی میں پہنچائیں گے

تو ہم بھی اس کی تنگی ومشکل کے سامان میسر کر دیں گے

تو ہم اس کو تکلیف کی منزل تک پہنچنے کی تیاری کرا دیں گے۔

اس کو ہم سخت راستے کے لیے سہولت دیں گے

تو ہم عنقریب اسے سختی (یعنی عذاب کی طرف بڑھنے) کے لئے سہولت فراہم کر دیں گے (تاکہ وہ تیزی سے مستحقِ عذاب ٹھہرے)،

We shall surely ease him to the Hardship;

— Arberry

We will surely ease him toward hardship.

— Qarai

We shall facilitate the path to affliction

— Sarwar

وَ مَا یُغۡنِیۡ عَنۡہُ مَا لُہٗۤ اِذَا تَرَدّٰی ﴿ؕ۱۱﴾

11

And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss).

— Ahmedali

His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin.

— Ahmedraza

And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth.

— Daryabadi

And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction).

— Hilali

And his money will not avail him when he plummets.

— Itani

and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes.

— Maududi

And what will his wealth avail him when he goes down (in destruction)

— Mubarakpuri

His riches will not save him when he perisheth.

— Pickthall

When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him.

— Qaribullah

And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?

— Sahih

And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes.

— Shakir

nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit].

— Wahiduddin

Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit).

— Yusufali

اور اس کا مال اس کے کچھ کام نہ آئے گا جب وہ برباد ہونے لگے گا۔

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

اور جب وہ (جہنم کے) گڑھے میں گرے گا تو اس کا مال اس کے کسی کام نہ آئے گا

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

اور اس کا مال اس کے کسی کام نہ آئے گا جب وہ (گڑھے میں) گرے گا۔

— عبدالسلام بھٹوی

اور اس کا مال اسے کام نہ آئے گا جب ہلاکت میں پڑے گا

اور اس کے کیا کام آئے گا اس کا مال جب وہ کھڈ میں گرے گا !

اور اس کا مال اس کے کچھ کام نہیں آئے گا جب وہ (جہنم کے) گڑھے میں گرے گا۔

اور جب وہ (دوزخ کے گڑھے میں) گرے گا تو اس کا مال اس کے کچھ کام نہ آئے گا

اس کا مال اسے (اوندھا) گرنے کے وقت کچھ کام نہ آئے گا

اور جب ایسا شخص تباہی کے گڑھے میں گرے گا تو اس کا مال اس کے کچھ کام نہیں آئے گا۔

اور اُس کا مال آخر اُس کے کس کام آئے گا جبکہ وہ ہلاک ہو جائے؟

اور اس کا مال اس کے کسی کام نہیں آئے گا جب وہ ہلاکت (کے گڑھے) میں گرے گا،

his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes.

— Arberry

His wealth will not avail him when he perishes.

and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction.

— Sarwar

اِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا لَلۡہُدٰی ﴿۫ۖ۱۲﴾

12

It is indeed for Us to show the way,

— Ahmedali

Indeed guiding is upon Us.

— Ahmedraza

Verify on us is the guidance

— Daryabadi

Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance,

— Hilali

It is upon Us to guide.

— Itani

Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way,

— Maududi

Truly, on Us is (to give) guidance.

— Mubarakpuri

Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance

— Pickthall

Indeed, Guidance is Ours,

— Qaribullah

Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance.

— Sahih

Surely Ours is it to show the way,

— Shakir

Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance --

— Wahiduddin

Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide,

13

And to Us belong the End and the Beginning.

— Ahmedali

And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us.

And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present.

— Daryabadi

And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world).

— Hilali

And to Us belong the Last and the First.

— Itani

and to Us belong the Next Life and the present.

— Maududi

And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world).

— Mubarakpuri

And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former.

— Pickthall

and to Us belong the Last and the First.

— Qaribullah

And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].

And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former.

and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world --

14

So, I warn you of the blazing Fire.

— Ahmedali

I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze.

Wherefore have warned you of Fire flaming,

— Daryabadi

Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell);

— Hilali

I have warned you of a Fierce Blaze.

— Itani

I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire,

— Maududi

Therefore I have warned you of a Fire Talazza.

— Mubarakpuri

Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire

— Pickthall

I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire,

— Qaribullah

So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing.

— Sahih

Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames:

I have warned you then about a raging Fire:

Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely;

تو میں تو تم لوگوں کو ایک بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ سے ڈرا چکا ہوں

لہذا میں نے تمہیں بھڑکتی آگ سے ڈرا دیا ہے

پس میں نے تمہیں ایک ایسی آگ سے ڈرا دیا ہے جو شعلے مارتی ہے۔

تو میں تمہیں ڈراتا ہوں اس آگ سے جو بھڑک رہی ہے،

15

No one will burn in it but the most wretched,

None except the most wicked will enter it.

None shall roast therein but the most wretched,

None shall enter it save the most wretched,

None will burn in it except the very wicked.

where none shall burn except the most wicked,

None shall enter it save the most wretched.

Which only the most wretched must endure,

in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner,

— Qaribullah

None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one.

None shall enter it but the most unhappy,

none shall enter it but the most wicked,

None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones

اس میں وہی بدبخت داخل ہوگا

اس میں وہی گرے گا جو بڑا بدبخت ہو

جس میں اس بڑے بدبخت کے سوا کوئی داخل نہیں ہوگا۔

نہ جائے گا اس میں مگر بڑا بدبخت،

16

Who denied (the truth) and turned away.

The one who denied and turned away.

Who belieth and turneth away.

Who denies and turns away.

— Hilali

He who denies and turns away.

— Itani

who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it.

Who denies and turns away.

He who denieth and turneth away.

who belied and turned away,

— Qaribullah

Who had denied and turned away.

Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back.

who denied [the truth], and turned away.

Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs.

جس نے جھٹلایا اور روگردانی کی۔

even he who cried lies, and turned away;

—he who impugns [God’s prophets] and turns his back.

except the wicked ones who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it.

وَ سَیُجَنَّبُہَا الۡاَتۡقَی ﴿ۙ۱۷﴾

17

But save him who fears

— Ahmedali

He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq)

— Ahmedraza

And avoid it shall the most pious,

— Daryabadi

And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell).

— Hilali

But the devout will avoid it.

— Itani

But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it,

— Maududi

And those with Taqwa will be far removed from it.

— Mubarakpuri

Far removed from it will be the righteous

— Pickthall

and from which the cautious shall be distanced.

— Qaribullah

But the righteous one will avoid it -

— Sahih

And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil),

— Shakir

One who fears God shall be kept away from it --

— Wahiduddin

But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,-

— Yusufali

اور اس سے پرہیزگار دور ہی رکھا جائے گا

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

اور جو بڑا پرہیزگار ہوگا اسے اس سے دور رکھا جائے گا

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

اور عنقریب اس سے وہ بڑا پرہیزگار دور رکھا جائے گا۔

اور بہت اس سے دور رکھا جائے گا جو سب سے زیادہ پرہیزگار،

اور اس سے محفوظ رکھا جائے گا

اور بچالیا جائے گا اس سے جو انتہائی متقی ہے۔

اور جو بڑا پرہیزگار ہے وہ (اس سے) بچا لیا جائے گا

اور اس سے ایسا شخص دور رکھا جائے گا جو بڑا پرہیزگار ہو گا

اور اس سے ایسے پرہیزگار شخص کو دور رکھا جائے گا۔

اور اُس سے دور رکھا جائیگا وہ نہایت پرہیزگار

اور اس (آگ) سے اس بڑے پرہیزگار شخص کو بچا لیا جائے گا،

and from which the most godfearing shall be removed,

The Godwary [person] will be spared of that

The pious ones who spend for the cause of God

الَّذِیۡ یُؤۡتِیۡ مَالَہٗ یَتَزَکّٰی ﴿ۚ۱۸﴾

18

And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue,

— Ahmedali

Who gives his wealth in order to be pure.

— Ahmedraza

Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed,

— Daryabadi

He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification,

— Hilali

He who gives his money to become pure.

— Itani

the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself;

— Maududi

He who gives of his wealth for self-purification.

— Mubarakpuri

Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness).

— Pickthall

He who gives his wealth to be purified,

— Qaribullah

[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself

— Sahih

Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself

— Shakir

one who gives his wealth to become purified,

— Wahiduddin

Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification,

جو اپنا مال اس لئے دیتا ہے کہ پاک صاف ہوجائے۔

جس نے پاکیزہ ہونے کی خاطر اپنا مال دیا

جو اپنا مال (اس لیے) دیتا ہے کہ پاک ہوجائے۔

even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself

and purify themselves will be safe from this fire.

وَ مَا لِاَحَدٍ عِنۡدَہٗ مِنۡ نِّعۡمَۃٍ تُجۡزٰۤی ﴿ۙ۱۹﴾

19

And is under no one's obligation to return his favour,

— Ahmedali

And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated.

— Ahmedraza

And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense.

— Daryabadi

And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,

— Hilali

Seeking no favor in return.

— Itani

not as payment for any favours that he received,

— Maududi

And who has (in mind) no favor from anyone to be paid back.

— Mubarakpuri

And none hath with him any favour for reward,

— Pickthall

and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense

— Qaribullah

And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded

— Sahih

And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded,

— Shakir

and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid,

— Wahiduddin

And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,

اور اس کے اوپر کسی کا احسان نہیں کہ وہ اس کا بدلہ اتارے

اس پر کسی کا کوئی احسان نہ تھا جس کا وہ بدلہ چکاتا

حالانکہ اس کے ہاں کسی کا کوئی احسان نہیں ہے کہ اس کا بدلہ دیا جائے۔

اور کسی کا اس پر کچھ احسان نہیں جس کا بدلہ دیا جائے

اور جس کی کسی پر کوئی عنایت بدلے کے لیے نہیں

اور (اس لیے) نہیں (دیتا کہ) اس پر کسی کا احسان (ہے) جس کا وہ بدلہ اتارتا ہے

حالانکہ اس پر کسی کا کوئی احسان نہیں تھا جس کا بدلہ دیا جاتا۔

and confers no favour on any man for recompense,

اِلَّا ابۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡہِ رَبِّہِ الۡاَعۡلٰی ﴿ۚ۲۰﴾

20

Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high,

— Ahmedali

He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme.

But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High.

— Daryabadi

Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High;

— Hilali

Only seeking the acceptance of his Lord, the Most High.

— Itani

but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High.

— Maududi

Except to seek the Face of his Lord, the Most High.

— Mubarakpuri

Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High.

— Pickthall

seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High,

— Qaribullah

But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High.

— Sahih

Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High.

— Shakir

acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High --

— Wahiduddin

But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High;

— Yusufali

بلکہ وہ صرف اپنے عالی شان پروردگار کی رضاجوئی کیلئے کرتا ہے

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

بلکہ اس نے تو محض اپنے رب برتر کی رضا کے لیے (مال خرچ کیا)

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

مگر (وہ تو صرف) اپنے اس رب کا چہرہ طلب کرنے کے لیے (د یتا ہے) جو سب سے بلند ہے۔

— عبدالسلام بھٹوی

صرف اپنے رب کی رضا چاہتا ہے جو سب سے بلند ہے،

بلکہ صرف اپنے خدائے برتر کی خوشنودی کے لیے ہے

— امین احسن اصلاحی

بلکہ (وہ تو خرچ کر رہا ہے) صرف اپنے بلندو برتر پروردگار کی رضاجوئی کے لیے۔

بلکہ اپنے خداوند اعلیٰ کی رضامندی حاصل کرنے کے لیے دیتا ہے

بلکہ صرف اپنے پروردگار بزرگ وبلند کی رضا چاہنے کے لئے

البتہ وہ صرف اپنے اس پروردگار کی خوشنودی چاہتا ہے جس کی شان سب سے اونچی ہے۔

وہ تو صرف اپنے رب برتر کی رضا جوئی کے لیے یہ کام کرتا ہے

مگر (وہ) صرف اپنے ربِ عظیم کی رضا جوئی کے لئے (مال خرچ کر رہا ہے)،

only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High;

but seek only the pleasure of their Lord, the Most Exalted,

except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High

وَ لَسَوۡفَ یَرۡضٰی ﴿٪۲۱﴾

21

Will surely be gratified.

— Ahmedali

And indeed, soon he will be very pleased.

— Ahmedraza

And presently he shall become wellpleased.

— Daryabadi

He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise).

— Hilali

And he will be satisfied.

— Itani

He will surely be well-pleased (with him).

— Maududi

He, surely, will be pleased.

— Mubarakpuri

He verily will be content.

— Pickthall

surely, he shall be satisfied.

— Qaribullah

And he is going to be satisfied.

— Sahih

And he shall soon be well-pleased.

— Shakir

and before long he will be well satisfied.

— Wahiduddin

And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction.

اور وہ عنقریب یقیناً خوش ہوجائے گا۔

اور جلد ہی وہ خوش ہوجائے گا

اور یقینا عنقریب وہ راضی ہوجائے گا۔

اور بیشک قریب ہے کہ وہ راضی ہوگا

اور وہ نہال بھی ہوجائے گا

اور وہ عنقریب راضی ہوجائے گا۔

اور وہ عنقریب خوش ہو جائے گا

یقیناً وه (اللہ بھی) عنقریب رضامند ہو جائے گا

and, surely, soon they will be well-pleased.

and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy.
