اِقۡتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَۃُ وَ انۡشَقَّ الۡقَمَرُ ﴿۱﴾

1

THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon.

— Ahmedali

The Last Day came near, and the moon split apart.

— Ahmedraza

The Hour hath drawn nigh, and the moon hath been rent in sunder.. And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous.

— Daryabadi

The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).

— Hilali

The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split.

— Itani

The Hour of Resurrection drew near and the moon split asunder.

— Maududi

The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder.

— Mubarakpuri

The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain.

— Pickthall

The Hour is drawing near, and the moon is split (in two).

— Qaribullah

The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].

— Sahih

The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder.

The Last Hour draws near and the moon is split asunder.

The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.

قیامت نزدیک آپہنچی اور چاند شق ہوگیا۔

وَ اِنۡ یَّرَوۡا اٰیَۃً یُّعۡرِضُوۡا وَ یَقُوۡلُوۡا سِحۡرٌ مُّسۡتَمِرٌّ ﴿۲﴾

2

But if they see a sign they turn away, and say: "This is the same old lie continuing,"

— Ahmedali

And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!”

— Ahmedraza

And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: "magic continous"

— Daryabadi

And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic."

— Hilali

Yet whenever they see a miracle, they turn away, and say, “Continuous magic.”

— Itani

(Regardless of any Signs these people see), they turn away and say: “This is an ongoing sorcery.”

— Maududi

And if they see an Ayah, they turn away and say: "This is magic, Mustamir."

— Mubarakpuri

And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion.

— Pickthall

Yet if they see a sign (the unbelievers) turn their backs and say: 'This is but a continuation of sorcery'

— Qaribullah

And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic."

— Sahih

And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic.

— Shakir

Yet, when they see a sign they [who deny the truth] turn their backs and say, "The same old sorcery!"

— Wahiduddin

But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."

— Yusufali

اور یہ اگر کوئی نشان دیکھ لیتے ہیں تو (اسے) ٹال جاتے ہیں اور کہنے لگتے ہیں (یہ) جادو ہے جو ابھی ختم ہوجائے گا۔

یہ کافر خواہ کوئی معجزہ دیکھ لیں تو اس سے منہ موڑ لیتے ہیں اور کہہ دیتے ہیں کہ یہ تو جادو ہے جو ہمیشہ سے چلا آرہا ہے۔

اور اگر وہ کوئی نشانی دیکھتے ہیں تو منہ پھیر لیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ (یہ) ایک جادو ہے جو گزر جانے والا ہے۔

اور اگر دیکھیں کوئی نشانی تو منہ پھیرتے اور کہتے ہیں یہ تو جادو ہے چلا آتا،

اور یہ کوئی سی بھی نشانی دیکھیں گے تو اس سے اعراض ہی کریں گے اور کہیں گے کہ یہ تو جادو ہے جو پہلے سے چلا آ رہا ہے

اور اگر وہ دیکھیں گے کوئی نشانی تب بھی وہ اعراض ہی کریں گے اور کہیں گے یہ تو جادو ہے جو پہلے سے چلا آ رہا ہے۔

اور اگر (کافر) کوئی نشانی دیکھتے ہیں تو منہ پھیر لیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ یہ ایک ہمیشہ کا جادو ہے

یہ اگر کوئی معجزه دیکھتے ہیں تو منھ پھیر لیتے ہیں اور کہہ دیتے ہیں کہ یہ پہلے سے چلا آتا ہوا جادو ہے

اور ان لوگوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ اگر وہ کوئی نشانی دیکھتے ہیں تو منہ موڑ لیتے ہیں، اور کہتے ہیں کہ یہ تو ایک چلتا ہوا جادو ہے۔

مگر اِن لوگوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ خواہ کوئی نشانی دیکھ لیں منہ موڑ جاتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں یہ تو چلتا ہوا جادو ہے

اور اگر وہ (کفّار) کوئی نشانی (یعنی معجزہ) دیکھتے ہیں تو مُنہ پھیر لیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ (یہ تو) ہمیشہ سے چلا آنے والا طاقتور جادو ہے،

Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say 'A continuous sorcery!'

If they see a sign, they turn away, and say, ‘An incessant magic!’

— Qarai

Whenever they see a miracle, they turn away from it and say, "This is just a powerful magic".

— Sarwar

وَ کَذَّبُوۡا وَ اتَّبَعُوۡۤا اَہۡوَآءَہُمۡ وَ کُلُّ اَمۡرٍ مُّسۡتَقِرٌّ ﴿۳﴾

And deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time.

— Ahmedali

And they denied and followed their own desires, whereas each matter has been decided!

— Ahmedraza

And they belied, and they followed their lusts; and every affair cometh to a final goal.

— Daryabadi

They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)].

— Hilali

They lied, and followed their opinions, but everything has its time.

— Itani

They also gave the lie to (the splitting asunder of the moon) and only followed their desires. Yet everything is destined to reach an end.

— Maududi

They denied and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled.

— Mubarakpuri

They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision

— Pickthall

They have belied, and follow their own fancies. But, every issue will be settled!

— Qaribullah

And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.

— Sahih

And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term.

— Shakir

They deny the truth and follow their own whims, every matter has its appointed time,

— Wahiduddin

They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time.

— Yusufali

اور ان لوگوں نے جھٹلایا اور اپنی خواہشوں کی پیروی کی اور ہر بات کو قرار آجاتا ہے۔

انہوں نے اسے جھٹلا دیا اور اپنی خواہشات ہی کی پیروی کی جبکہ ہر کام کا ایک وقت مقرر ہے۔

اور انھوں نے جھٹلادیا اور اپنی خواہشوں کی پیروی کی اور ہر کام انجام کو پہنچنے والا ہے۔

انہوں نے حق کو جھٹلایا، اور اپنی خواہشات کے پیچھے چل نکلے۔ اور ہر کام کو آخر کسی ٹھکانے پر ٹک کر رہنا ہے۔

اِنہوں نے (اس کو بھی) جھٹلا دیا اور اپنی خواہشات نفس ہی کی پیروی کی ہر معاملہ کو آخر کار ایک انجام پر پہنچ کر رہنا ہے

اور انہوں نے (اب بھی) جھٹلایا اور اپنی خواہشات کے پیچھے چلے اور ہر کام (جس کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے) مقررّہ وقت پر ہونے والا ہے،

They have cried lies, and followed their caprices; but every matter is settled.

They denied and followed their own desires, and every matter has a setting [appropriate to it].

They have rejected it and have followed their own desires, but all matters will be settled (by God).

— Sarwar

وَ لَقَدۡ جَآءَہُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَنۡۢبَآءِ مَا فِیۡہِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ ۙ﴿۴﴾

4

Messages deterring them from evil had come to them,

— Ahmedali

And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them.

— Ahmedraza

And assuredly there hath come Unto them tidings wherein is a deterrent.

— Daryabadi

And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil),

— Hilali

And there came to them news containing a deterrent.

— Itani

Surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression),

— Maududi

And indeed there has come to them news wherein there is Muzdajar.

— Mubarakpuri

And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter,

— Pickthall

Tidings containing a deterrent have come to them

— Qaribullah

And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence -

— Sahih

And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention--

— Shakir

there has come to them many a tiding wherein there are warnings,

— Wahiduddin

There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them),

— Yusufali

اور ان لوگوں کے پاس خبریں اتنی پہنچ چکی ہیں کہ جن میں کافی عبرت ہے۔

ان لوگوں کو (پہلی قوموں کی) خبریں مل چکی ہیں جن میں کافی تنبیہ ہے۔

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

اور بلاشبہ یقینا ان کے پاس کئی خبریں آئی ہیں، جن میں باز آنے کا سامان ہے۔

— عبدالسلام بھٹوی

اور بیشک ان کے پاس وہ خبریں آئیں جن میں کافی روک تھی

اور ان کو ماضی کی سر گزشتیں پہنچ گئیں ہیں جن میں کافی سامان عبرت موجود ہے ،

اور ان کے پاس وہ خبریں آچکی ہیں جن میں تنبیہہ ہے۔

اور ان کو ایسے حالات (سابقین) پہنچ چکے ہیں جن میں عبرت ہے

یقیناً ان کے پاس وه خبریں آچکی ہیں جن میں ڈانٹ ڈپٹ (کی نصیحت) ہے

اور ان لوگوں کو (پچھلی قوموں کے) واقعات کی اتنی خبریں پہنچ چکی ہیں جن میں تنبیہ کا بڑا سامان تھا۔

اِن لوگوں کے سامنے (پچھلی قوموں کے) وہ حالات آ چکے ہیں جن میں سرکشی سے باز رکھنے کے لیے کافی سامان عبرت ہے

اور بیشک اُن کے پاس (پہلی قوموں کی) ایسی خبریں آچکی ہیں جن میں (کفر و نافرمانی پر بڑی) عبرت و سرزنش ہے،

And there have come to them such tidings as contain a deterrent --

There have already come to them reports containing admonishment,

— Qarai

They have certainly received the kind of news in which there is a lesson and strong words of wisdom,

— Sarwar

حِکۡمَۃٌۢ بَالِغَۃٌ فَمَا تُغۡنِ النُّذُرُ ۙ﴿۵﴾

5

Containing consummate wisdom; yet warnings were of no avail.

— Ahmedali

The pinnacle of wisdom – so how will the Heralds of warning provide any benefit?

— Ahmedraza

Wisdom consummate. But warnings avail not.

— Daryabadi

Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not,

— Hilali

Profound wisdom—but warnings are of no avail.

— Itani

narratives that are full of consummate wisdom. But warnings do not avail them.

— Maududi

Perfect wisdom, but warners benefit them not.

— Mubarakpuri

Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not.

— Pickthall

which are full of wisdom; but the warnings do not help.

— Qaribullah

Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].

— Sahih

Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail;

— Shakir

profound in wisdom, but all warnings have been of no avail:

— Wahiduddin

Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not.

— Yusufali

اعلی درجہ کی دانش مندی ہے مگر ڈرانے والی چیزیں انہیں کچھ فائدہ نہیں دیتیں

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

(ان میں) دانائی کی باتیں ہیں جو اتمام حجت کو کافی ہیں لیکن یہ تنبیہات ان کے کسی کام نہ آئیں۔

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

کامل دانائی کی بات ہے، پھر (بھی) ڈرانے والی چیزیں کوئی فائدہ نہیں دیتیں۔

— عبدالسلام بھٹوی

انتہاء کو پہنچی ہوئی حکمت پھر کیا کام دیں ڈر سنانے والے،

— احمد رضا خان

نہایت دل نشین حکمت، لیکن تنبیہات کیا کام دے رہی ہیں !

کامل دانائی (کی باتیں) لیکن ان خبردار کرنے والوں سے انہیں کوئی فائدہ نہ پہنچا۔

اور کامل دانائی (کی کتاب بھی) لیکن ڈرانا ان کو کچھ فائدہ نہیں دیتا

اور کامل عقل کی بات ہے لیکن ان ڈراؤنی باتوں نے بھی کچھ فائده نہ دیا

— محمد جوناگڑھی

دل میں اتر جانے والی دانائی کی باتیں تھیں، پھر بھی یہ تنبیہات (ان پر) کچھ کارگر نہیں ہو رہیں۔

اور ایسی حکمت جو نصیحت کے مقصد کو بدرجہ اتم پورا کرتی ہے مگر تنبیہات اِن پر کارگر نہیں ہوتیں

(یہ قرآن) کامل دانائی و حکمت ہے کیا پھر بھی ڈر سنانے والے کچھ فائدہ نہیں دیتے،

a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail.

[and representing] far-reaching wisdom; but warnings are of no avail!

but the warnings have proved to have no effect on them.

— Sarwar

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡہُمۡ ۘ یَوۡمَ یَدۡعُ الدَّاعِ اِلٰی شَیۡءٍ نُّکُرٍ ۙ﴿۶﴾

So turn away from them. When on the Day the crier calls to the painful business,

— Ahmedali

Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter –

— Ahmedraza

Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the sum- moner Will summon mankind Unto a thing unpleasant.

— Daryabadi

So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing.

— Hilali

So turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller calls to something terrible.

— Itani

So turn away from them, (O Prophet). On the Day when a caller shall call them to a thing most terrible,

— Maududi

So withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing.

— Mubarakpuri

So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing.

— Pickthall

Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing,

— Qaribullah

So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding,

— Sahih

So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task,

— Shakir

so ignore them. On the Day when the Crier will call out about a horrible event,

— Wahiduddin

Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair,

— Yusufali

سو آپ ان کی طرف سے کچھ خیال نہ کیجئے۔ جس روز ایک بلانے والا (فرشتہ) انہیں ایک ناگوار چیز کی طرف بلائے گا

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

لہٰذا آپ ان کی پروا نہ کیجئے۔ جس دن پکارنے والا ایک ناگوار چیز کی طرف پکارے گا۔

— عبدالرحمٰن کیلانی

سو ان سے منہ پھیر لے۔ جس دن پکارنے والا ایک ناگوار چیز کی طرف بلائے گا۔

— عبدالسلام بھٹوی

تو تم ان سے منہ پھیرلو جس دن بلانے والا ایک سخت بے پہچانی بات کی طرف بلائے گا

— احمد رضا خان

تو ان سے اعراض کرو اور اس دن کا انتظار کرو جس دن پکارنے والا ان کو ایک نہایت ہی نا مطلوب چیز کی طرف پکارے گا

تو (اے نبی ﷺ !) آپ ان سے صرفِ نظر کر لیجیے۔

تو تم بھی ان کی کچھ پروا نہ کرو۔ جس دن بلانے والا ان کو ایک ناخوش چیز کی طرف بلائے گا

— فتح محمد جالندھری

پس (اے نبی) تم ان سے اعراض کرو جس دن ایک پکارنے واﻻ ناگوار چیز کی طرف پکارے گا

— محمد جوناگڑھی

لہذا (اے پیغمبر) تم بھی ان کی پرواہ مت کرو۔ جس دن پکارنے والا ایک ناگوار چیز کی طرف بلائے گا۔

پس اے نبیؐ، اِن سے رخ پھیر لو جس روز پکارنے والا ایک سخت ناگوار چیز کی طرف پکارے گا

سو آپ اُن سے منہ پھیر لیں، جس دن بلانے والا (فرشتہ) ایک نہایت ناگوار چیز (میدانِ حشر) کی طرف بلائے گا،

So turn thou away from them. Upon the day when the Caller shall call unto a horrible thing,

So turn away from them! The day when the Caller calls to a dire thing,

— Qarai

(Muhammad), leave them alone. On the day when they will be called to a terrible punishment,

— Sarwar

خُشَّعًا اَبۡصَارُہُمۡ یَخۡرُجُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡاَجۡدَاثِ کَاَنَّہُمۡ جَرَادٌ مُّنۡتَشِرٌ ۙ﴿۷﴾

7

They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts.

— Ahmedali

They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts.

— Ahmedraza

With looks downcast they will come forth, from the tombs, as though they were locusts scattered abroad.

— Daryabadi

They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad,

— Hilali

Their eyes humiliated, they will emerge from the graves, as if they were swarming locusts.

— Itani

with down-cast eyes they shall go forth from their graves, as though they were scattered locusts.

— Maududi

They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad,

— Mubarakpuri

With downcast eyes, they come forth from the graves as they were locusts spread abroad,

— Pickthall

their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts,

— Qaribullah

Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,

— Sahih

Their eyes cast down, going forth from their graves as if they were scattered locusts,

— Shakir

with downcast eyes they shall come out of their graves, as if they were locusts milling about

— Wahiduddin

They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad,

— Yusufali

ان کی آنکھیں جھکی ہوئی ہوں گی قبروں سے (اس طرح) نکل رہے ہوں گے جیسے ٹڈی پھیل جاتی ہے دوڑے چلے آرہے ہوں گے

— عبدالماجد دریابادی

تو یہ لوگ سہمی سہمی نگاہوں سے اپنی قبروں سے یوں نکل آئیں گے جیسے بکھری ہوئی ٹڈیاں ہوں۔

ان کی نظریں جھکی ہوں گی، وہ قبروں سے نکلیں گے جیسے وہ پھیلی ہوئی ٹڈیاں ہوں۔

نیچی آنکھیں کیے ہوئے قبروں سے نکلیں گے گویا وہ ٹڈی ہیں پھیلی ہوئی

ان کی نگاہیں جھکی ہوں گی اور یہ نکلیں گے قبروں سے جس طرح منتشر ٹڈیاں نکلتی ہیں ،

(اس وقت) ان کی نگاہیں زمین میں گڑی ہوں گی۔ یہ اپنی قبروں سے ایسے نکل کر آئیں گے جیسے ٹڈی ّدَل پھیلا ہوا ہو۔

تو آنکھیں نیچی کئے ہوئے قبروں سے نکل پڑیں گے گویا بکھری ہوئی ٹڈیاں

یہ جھکی آنکھوں قبروں سے اس طرح نکل کھڑے ہوں گے کہ گویا وه پھیلا ہوا ٹڈی دل ہے

— محمد جوناگڑھی

اس دن یہ اپنی آنکھیں جھکائے قبروں سے اس طرح نکل کھڑے ہوں گے جیسے ہر طرف پھیلی ہوئی ٹڈیاں۔

لوگ سہمی ہوئی نگاہوں کے ساتھ اپنی قبروں سے اِس طرح نکلیں گے گویا وہ بکھری ہوئی ٹڈیاں ہیں

اپنی آنکھیں جھکائے ہوئے قبروں سے نکل پڑیں گے گویا وہ پھیلی ہوئی ٹڈیاں ہیں،

abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers,

they will emerge from the graves as if they were scattered locusts with a humbled look [in their eyes],

they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about.

مُّہۡطِعِیۡنَ اِلَی الدَّاعِ ؕ یَقُوۡلُ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ ہٰذَا یَوۡمٌ عَسِرٌ ﴿۸﴾

They will hasten forward to the caller, gazes fixed. And the unbelievers will say: "This is the day of untold woe."

Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.”

Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult.

Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day."

Scrambling towards the Caller, the disbelievers will say, “This is a difficult Day.”

They shall be hurrying forth towards the caller, and the unbelievers (who had once denied this Day), will say: “This is a woeful Day.”

Hastening towards the caller. The disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day."

Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day.

running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day'

Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."

Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day.

hastening towards the Crier. Those who deny the truth will cry, "This is such a hard day!"

Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say.

بلانے والے کی طرف کافر لوگ کہتے ہوں گے کہ یہ دن بڑا سخت ہے۔

وہ پکارنے والے کی طرف دوڑے جارہے ہوں گے۔ (اس دن) کافر کہیں گے کہ یہ دن تو بڑا کٹھن ہے

The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him.

Before these, the people of Nooh denied and they belied Our bondman and said, “He is a madman” and rebuffed him.

— Ahmedraza

There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman Nuh and said: `a madman;' and moreover he was reproven.

— Daryabadi

The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened.

Before them the people of Noah disbelieved. They rejected Our servant, and said, “Crazy,” and he was rebuked.

Before them Noah's people also gave the lie (to his Message). They rejected Our servant as a liar, saying: “He is a madman”; and he was rebuffed.

ان لوگوں سے پہلے نوح ؑ کی قوم والے تکذیب کرچکے ہیں سو انہوں نے ہمارے بندے کی تکذیب کی اور کہا کہ یہ مجنون ہیں اور (نوح کو) دھمکی بھی دی گئی۔

The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away".

فَدَعَا رَبَّہٗۤ اَنِّیۡ مَغۡلُوۡبٌ فَانۡتَصِرۡ ﴿۱۰﴾

So he prayed to his Lord: "I am helpless, deliver me."

He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.”

— Ahmedraza

Thereupon he prayed Unto his Lord: verily am overcome, so vindicate me.

— Daryabadi

Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!"

So he appealed to his Lord, “I am overwhelmed, so help me.”

— Itani

Then he called upon His Lord: “Verily I am vanquished; so come You to my aid.”

— Maududi

Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!"

— Mubarakpuri

So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help.

— Pickthall

Then he supplicated to his Lord, (saying): 'I am overcome, help me'

— Qaribullah

So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."

Therefore he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, come Thou then to help.

so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!"

Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!"

اس پر انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کی کہ میں درماندہ ہوں سو تو بدلہ لے لے۔

چناچہ انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کی کہ : میں مغلوب ہوچکا، اب تو ان سے بدلہ لے

And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents,

And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end.

And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined.

And We made the earth break forth with springs; SO that the water met for an affair already decreed.

And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined.

And We made the earth burst with springs, and the waters met for a purpose already destined.

and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed.

And We caused springs to gush forth from the earth. So, the waters met for a matter predestined.

اور زمین میں چشمے پھوڑ دیئے سو پورا پانی مل گیا اس کام کے لئے جو تجویز ہوچکا تھا۔

اور زمین کو پھاڑ کر ہم نے کئی چشمے بہا دیئے۔ (نیچے اور اوپر کا) پانی ایک ایسے کام کے لئے مل گیا جو مقدر ہوچکا تھا۔

اور زمین کو چشموں کے ساتھ پھاڑ دیا، تو تمام پانی مل (کر ایک ہو) گیا، اس کام کے لیے جو طے ہوچکا تھا۔

But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum,

And We carried Nooh upon a ship of wooden planks and nails.

And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails.

And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails,

And We carried him on a craft of planks and nails.

And We bore Noah on the vessel built of planks and nails,

And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails (Dusur)

And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails,

We carried him in a well built, watertight vessel made from planks (of wood)

And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,

And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails

We bore him on an [ark] which, made of planks and nails,

But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre:

اور ہم نے نوح ؑ کو سوار کردیا تختوں اور میخوں والی (کشتی) پر

اور نوح کو ہم نے ایک تختوں اور کیلوں والی (کشتی) پر سوار کردیا۔

Which sailed right under Our eyes: A recompense for him who had been denied.

Sailing in front of Our sight; as a reward for the sake of one who was rejected.

Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected.

Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!

Sailing before Our eyes; a reward for him who was rejected.

which sailed on under Our supervision: a reward for him who had been shown ingratitude.

Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!

That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected.

that ran on under Our Eyes, a recompense for him because he had been disbelieved.

Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.

Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied.

She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)!

جو ہماری نگرانی میں رواں تھی۔ (یہ سب) انتقام میں اس شخص کے تھا جس کا انکار کیا گیا تھا۔

جو ہماری آنکھوں کے سامنے چل رہی تھی۔ یہ بدلہ اس شخص کی خاطر دیا گیا جس کا انکار کیا گیا تھا۔

اور جو چلتی رہی ہماری حفاظت میں۔ یہ ہم نے بدلہ لینے کے لیے کیا اس کا جس کی ناقدری کی گئی۔

And We left it as a sign. Is there anyone who will be warned?

We let loose against them a violent roaring wind on a day of ill omen, continuous,

Verily We! We sent against them a raging Wind On a day of calamity continuous.

Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.

We unleashed upon them a screaming wind, on a day of unrelenting misery.

We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune,

Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will pay heed?

فَقَالُوۡۤا اَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُہٗۤ ۙ اِنَّاۤ اِذًا لَّفِیۡ ضَلٰلٍ وَّ سُعُرٍ ﴿۲۴﴾

And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall he in error and insane.

— Ahmedali

So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!”

— Ahmedraza

And they said: a mere humanbeing from amongst us, and single! shall we follow him! verily then we should fall in error and madness.

— Daryabadi

For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!"

— Hilali

They said, “Are we to follow one of us, a human being? We would then go astray, and end up in Hell.

— Itani

saying: “Are we to follow a single mortal, one from among ourselves? If we do that, we shall surely be in error and folly.

— Maududi

And they said: "A man, alone among us -- shall we follow him Truly, then we should be in error and distress!"

— Mubarakpuri

For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.

They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane.

And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.

So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress:

they said, "Are we to follow a man from amongst ourselves? We would surely then fall into error and madness.

For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad!

اور بولے کہ کیا ہم اپنے ہی ہم جنس ایک انسان کی پیروی کریں اور وہ بھی اکیلا پھر تو ہم نرے بیوقوف اور مجنون ٹھہرے۔

وہ کہنے لگے : کیا ہم اپنے ہی میں سے ایک اکیلے آدمی کی پیروی کرنے لگیں ؟ تب تو ہم گمراہی اور دیوانگی میں پڑگئے

Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar."

“What! Of all the men among us, the remembrance has come down upon him? In fact, he is a mischievous, great liar.”

— Ahmedraza

Hath the Admonition been laid upon him from amongst us! Aye! he is a liar insolent.

— Daryabadi

"Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!"

— Hilali

Was the message given to him, out of all of us? In fact, he is a wicked liar.”

— Itani

Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.”

"Is it that the Reminder is sent to him alone from among us Nay, he is an insolent liar!"

Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar.

کیا ہم سب میں سے اسی پر وحی نازل ہوئی ہے ؟ بلکہ یہ بڑا جھوٹا ہے شیخی باز ہے۔

"Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar!

It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.”

— Ahmedraza

They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent.

— Daryabadi

Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one!

— Hilali

They will know tomorrow who the wicked liar is.

— Itani

(We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar.

Tomorrow they will come to know who is the liar, the insolent one!

(Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar.

We shall send the she-camel to try them. So watch them, and be constant.

“We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.”

Verify We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience.

Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient!

Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)."

“And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; only those may come whose turn it is.”

And declare thou Unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns.

And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns).

And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; each share of drink made available.

Let them know that the water should be divided between them and the she-camel, each availing their turn.”

اور انہیں بتا دیجیے کہ اب پانی ان کے مابین تقسیم ہوگا ہر پینے کی باری پر حاضری ہوگی۔

But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her.

In response they called their companion – he therefore caught and hamstrung the she-camel.

We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence.

Indeed We sent upon them a single Scream – thereupon they became like the barrier builder’s residual dry trampled hay.

Verily We We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder.

Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder.

We sent against them a single Scream, and they became like crushed hay.

Behold, We sent a single Blast against them, and they became like the trampled twigs of a sheep pen-builder.

Verily, We sent against them a single Sayhah, and they became like straw Al-Muhtazir.

Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold.

Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?

And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember?

— Ahmedraza

And assuredly We have made the Qur'an eary for admanirion: is there then any one who would be admonished.

— Daryabadi

And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

— Hilali

We made the Quran easy to understand. Is there anyone who would understand?

Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed?

And indeed, We have made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember; then is there any that will remember

We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning

Indeed We sent a shower of stones upon them, except the family of Lut; We rescued them before dawn.

Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn.

Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night,

We unleashed upon them a shower of stones, except for the family of Lot; We rescued them at dawn.

and behold, We let loose upon them a tempest which rained stones upon them, except upon Lot's household whom We rescued in the last hours of the night

Verily, We sent against them Hasib (a violent storm of stones), except the family of Lut, them We saved in the last hour of the night,

As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful.

As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks.

As a favour from us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks.

As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us).

A blessing from Us. Thus We reward the thankful.

as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks.

As a favor from Us. Thus do We reward him who gives thanks.

As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks.

through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful.

As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful.

A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks.

as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful.

As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks.

اپنی طرف سے فضل کرکے۔ جو شکر کرتا ہے اسے ہم صلہ ہی ایسا دیا کرتے ہیں۔

اپنے احسان سے ہر ہر شکر گزار کو ہم اسی طرح بدلہ دیتے ہیں

یہ ہماری طرف سے ایک نعمت تھی۔ جو لوگ شکر گزار ہوتے ہیں، ان کو ہم ایسا ہی صلہ دیتے ہیں۔

He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings.

And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure – in response they doubted the warnings.

And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings.

And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings!

He had warned them of Our onslaught, but they dismissed the warnings.

Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings.

And he indeed had warned them of Our punishment, but they doubted the warnings!

And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings.

He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings.

اور لوط نے انہیں ہماری گرفت سے ڈرایا تھا سو انہوں نے (اس) ڈرانے میں جھگڑے نکالے۔

They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination."

And they tried to persuade him regarding his guests – We therefore blinded their eyes, “So taste My punishment, and My warnings.”

And assuredly they solicited him for his guests: then We wiped out their eyes: taste then My torment and My warnings.

And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

They even lusted for his guest, so We obliterated their eyes. “So taste My punishment and My warnings.”

Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.”

And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them.

And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning.

And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled.

And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning.

Early morning brought upon them enduring punishment.

Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning.

And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning.

وَ لَقَدۡ یَسَّرۡنَا الۡقُرۡاٰنَ لِلذِّکۡرِ فَہَلۡ مِنۡ مُّدَّکِرٍ ﴿٪۴۰﴾

40

Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?

— Ahmedali

And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember?

— Ahmedraza

And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished.

— Daryabadi

And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

— Hilali

We made the Quran easy to memorize. Is there anyone who would memorize?

— Itani

Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed?

— Maududi

And indeed, We have made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember; then is there any that will remember

And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth?

We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember!

And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?

And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition?

And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?

اور ہم نے آسان کردیا ہے قرآن کو نصیحت حاصل کرنے کیلئے سو ہے کوئی نصیحت حاصل کرنے والا ؟

وَ لَقَدۡ جَآءَ اٰلَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ النُّذُرُ ﴿ۚ۴۱﴾

41

The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh.

— Ahmedali

And indeed the Noble Messengers came to the people of Firaun.

— Ahmedraza

And assuredly Unto the household of Fir'awn came the warning.

— Daryabadi

And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)].

The warnings also came to the people of Pharaoh.

Warnings also came to the Pharaonites,

And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir`awn.

And warnings came in truth unto the house of Pharaoh

And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning.

کَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰیٰتِنَا کُلِّہَا فَاَخَذۡنٰہُمۡ اَخۡذَ عَزِیۡزٍ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ ﴿۴۲﴾

42

They rejected each one of Our signs. So We seized them with the grip of one mighty and powerful.

They denied all Our signs, We therefore seized them – the seizure of the Most Honourable, the All Powerful.

— Ahmedraza

They belied Our signs everyone thereof; whereof We laid hold of them with the grip of our Mighty, Powerful.

— Daryabadi

(They) belied all Our Signs, so We seized them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Capable to carry out what he Will (Omnipotent).

— Hilali

They rejected Our signs, all of them, so We seized them—the seizure of an Almighty Omnipotent.

— Itani

but they gave the lie to Our Signs, to all of them. Thereupon We seized them with the seizing of the Most Mighty, the Most Powerful.

— Maududi

(They) denied all Our signs, so We seized them with a punishment of the Almighty, All-Capable.

— Mubarakpuri

Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful.

but they belied all Our signs so We seized them with the seizing of the Mighty, Powerful.

— Qaribullah

They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability.

They rejected all Our communications, so We overtook them after the manner of a Mighty, Powerful One.

— Shakir

They, too, rejected all Our signs. So We seized them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent.

— Wahiduddin

The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will.

انہوں نے ہماری ساری نشانیوں کو جھٹلایا تو ہم نے (انہیں) زبردست صاحب قدرت کی پکڑ پکڑی۔

انہوں نے ہماری سب نشانیوں کو جھٹلا دیا تو ہم نے انہیں کسی زبردست اور صاحب قدرت کی گرفت کی طرح پکڑ لیا۔

انہوں نے ہماری تمام نشانیوں کو جھٹلا دیا پھر ہم نے انہیں پکڑا ایک زبردست صاحب قدرت کا پکڑنا۔

انہوں نے ہماری تمام نشانیوں کو جھٹلایا تو ہم نے ان کو اس طرح پکڑ لیا جس طرح ایک قوی اور غالب شخص پکڑ لیتا ہے

43

Are the unbelievers among you any better than they? Or is there immunity for you in the Scriptures?

Are your disbelievers better than they were, or have you been given exemption in the Books?

Are your infidels better than these? Or is there an immunity for you in the Writs?

Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures?

Are your unbelievers better than all those? Or do you have immunity in the scriptures?

Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures?

Or say they: "We are a great multitude, victorious"

Or say they: We are a host victorious?

Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"?

Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other?

Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?"

Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"?

A یا یہ لوگ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایسی جماعت ہیں جو غالب ہی رہیں گے ؟۔

کیا وہ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک انتقام لے لینے والی جماعت ہیں۔

The army will be routed and put to flight.

The group will soon be routed, and will turn their backs to flee.

Anon will their multitude be vanquished, and they will turn the back.

Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs.

The multitude will be defeated, and they will turn their backs.

Surely the Hour will be the moment of their promise, and that moment will be calamitous and distressing.

In fact their promise is upon the Last Day – and the Last Day is very severe and very bitter!

Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter.

Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure).

بلکہ ان سے (نمٹنے کا اصل) وعدہ تو قیامت ہے اور قیامت بڑی دہشت ناک اور تلخ تر ہے۔

Surely the sinners are misguided and insane.

Verily the culprits shall be in great error and madness.

Verily, the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter).

The wicked are in confusion and madness.

The evil-doers are victims of error and madness.

Verily, the criminals are in error and will burn.

Lo! the guilty are in error and madness.

Indeed the wrongdoers are in error and a raging fire.

Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness.

Surely the guilty are in error and distress.

The evil-doers are indeed sunk in error and folly --

Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad.

(یہ) مجرمین بڑی غلطی اور بےعقلی میں (پڑے ہوئے) ہیں

On that Day they will be dragged into the fire faces foremost, (and told:) "Taste the feel of Hell."

On the day when they are dragged upon their faces in the fire – “Taste the heat of hell.”

On the Day whereon they shall be dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it shall be said Unto them: taste the touch of the Scorching.

The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!"

The Day when they are dragged upon their faces into the Fire: “Taste the touch of Saqar.”

There shall come a Day when they will be dragged on their faces into the Fire and will be told: “Now taste the flame of Hell.”

The Day they will be dragged on their faces into the Fire (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!"

On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell.

جس روز یہ لوگ اپنے چہروں کے بل جہنم میں گھسیٹے جائیں گے تو ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ دوزخ کے لگنے کا مزہ چکھو

جس دن یہ دوزخ میں اپنے منہ کے بل گھسیٹے جائیں گے (تو ان سے کہا جائے گا) اب چکھو جہنم کی لپیٹ کا مزا

جس دن وہ آگ میں اپنے چہروں پر گھسیٹے جائیں گے، چکھو آگ کا چھونا۔

جس دن آگ میں اپنے مونہوں پر گھسیٹے جائیں گے اور فرمایا جائے گا، چکھو دوزخ کی آنچ،

اس دن کو یاد رکھیں جب یہ اپنے چہروں کے بل گھسیٹے جائیں گے ! چکھو مزا دوزخ کی لپیٹ کا !)

We have indeed created all things by measure;

Veriiy everything! We have created it by a measure.

Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

Everything We created is precisely measured.

— Itani

We have created everything in a determined measure.

— Maududi

Verily, We have created all things with Qadar.

— Mubarakpuri

Lo! We have created every thing by measure.

Indeed, We have created all things according to a measure.

Indeed, all things We created with predestination.

Surely We have created everything according to a measure.

And Our command is but one (word) swift as the winking of an eye.

51

We have destroyed the likes of you in the past: So is there any one who will be warned?

And We have indeed destroyed your kind, so is there one who would ponder?

And assuredly We have destroyed your likes; so is there any one who shall be admonished?

— Daryabadi

And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

We have destroyed your likes. Is there anyone who would ponder?

We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed?

And indeed, We have destroyed your likes; then is there any that will remember

And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth?

اور ہم تمہارے ہم طریقہ لوگوں کو ہلاک کرچکے ہیں سو ہے کوئی نصیحت کرنے والا ؟۔

اور تمہارے جیسی تو بہت سی قوموں کو ہم ہلاک کرچکے ہیں پھر کیا ہے کوئی نصیحت ماننے والا ؟

All things they do are (recorded) in the books;

All things small or great have been written down.

And every small and great thing is recorded.

And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer) (See the Quran V. 57:22).

54

Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and light,

Indeed the pious are amidst Gardens and springs.

— Ahmedraza

Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and among rivers.

— Daryabadi

Verily, The Muttaqun (pious), will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers (Paradise).

— Hilali

The righteous will be amidst gardens and rivers.

— Itani

Surely those who shun disobedience will dwell amidst Gardens and running streams

— Maududi

Verily, those who have Taqwa, will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers.

Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers,

Indeed, the cautious shall live amid gardens and a river,

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,

Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers,

بیشک بچ کر چلنے والے باغوں اور نہروں میں ہوں گے۔

55

At the still centre in the proximity of the King all-powerful.

Seated in an assembly of the Truth, in the presence of Allah, the Omnipotent King.

In a good seat, near a Sovereign Omnipotent.

In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allah, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour).

In an assembly of virtue, in the presence of an Omnipotent King.

— Itani

where they will be honourably seated in the presence of a King, Mighty in Power.

— Maududi

In a seat of truth, near the Muqtadir King.

— Mubarakpuri

Firmly established in the favour of a Mighty King.

in a secure abode, in the presence of the Powerful King.

— Qaribullah

In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.

In the seat of honor with a most Powerful King.

in the seat of truth with an all-powerful sovereign.

In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent.

ایک اعلی مقام میں قدرت والے بادشاہ کے نزدیک۔
